What’s a Cool Retreat?
Sustainability & Eco Awareness
Casa Vigneto is a traditional, rustic stone house that is ideal for families or groups of friends. It can be rented as a stand-alone property or, for larger groups, in conjunction with one or both of our other properties: La Stalla, a barn conversion that sleeps two people and is situated just a couple of minutes’ walk away, and L’Antico Palazzo, which is next to La Stalla and sleeps up to 10 people.
The stunning shared swimming pool with mountain views is situated across the vineyard from Casa Vigneto (1-2min walk). The pool is located in a lovely, sheltered spot with sun terrace on one side. It is 1.2m deep throughout, making it ideal for children, and is 9m long, so is a good size for those who wish to do ‘proper’ swimming.
Casa Vigneto has truly magnificent views of the Appennini mountains and the river Dolo, and is situated in Villa Bonicelli, a picturesque and peaceful hamlet in the beautiful Emilia-Romagnan countryside. It sleeps up to seven people (there are three bedrooms, plus a day bed [single] in the upstairs sitting room). The house is set back from the road with a garden, shared with the adjoining property, to the front. Guests have use of a large outdoor table with chairs, sun loungers and a barbecue.
The property is furnished with many antique one-off pieces, making it a quirky and original holiday home in which to base yourselves while exploring this stunning and little-known area of Italy. On the ground floor is a large open-plan kitchen/diner with wood-burning stove, exposed stonework and an unusual vaulted ceiling. The dining table seats 8, and there is also a comfortable seating area with TV and DVD player. Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom (again with vaulted ceiling) and shower room (loo, basin, shower cubicle).
Upstairs, taking full advantage of the beautiful views, there is a large sitting room that opens onto a spacious south-facing covered balcony overlooking a small orchard, a vineyard and the Appennini mountains – a wonderful setting for your al fresco meals! The sitting room itself has an attractive original terracotta floor and a small wood-burning stove and is simply but comfortably furnished. Also on the first floor is a second shower room and two further bedrooms: a comfortable twin room and a double room with doors opening onto a second balcony. All three bedrooms have windows with a view of the river Dolo and the mountains.
